Chevalier & Sciales is looking for an Associate with approximately 2–3 years of experience to join its Investment Management practice in Luxembourg.

The successful candidate will work directly with partners and clients on a broad range of Luxembourg investment fund matters, with particular exposure to alternative investment funds and private markets.

The role

You will be involved in the structuring, establishment and ongoing operation of Luxembourg investment funds and investment structures, including RAIFs, SIFs, SICARs, SCS/SCSp partnerships and other alternative investment vehicles.

Your work will include, among other things:

• drafting and reviewing offering documents, LPAs, articles of association, subscription documentation and side letters;
• advising on the establishment, restructuring and ongoing operation of investment funds;
• reviewing and negotiating AIFM, administration, depositary and other fund-related agreements;
• advising on Luxembourg regulatory matters, including AIFMD and related requirements; and
• working directly with asset managers, investors, AIFMs, administrators, depositaries and other market participants.

At Chevalier & Sciales, associates work in small teams with direct partner involvement and significant client exposure. The position is intended for a lawyer who wishes to develop a high degree of autonomy and take increasing responsibility for matters and client relationships.

Your profile

We are particularly interested in candidates who:

• have approximately 2–3 years of relevant experience, preferably acquired within the investment funds or asset management practice of a Luxembourg law firm;
• are admitted to the Luxembourg Bar (List I or List IV);
• have a strong command of English;
• speak Spanish and/or Portuguese;
• have strong drafting and analytical skills; and
• are pragmatic, commercially minded and comfortable assuming responsibility within a growing practice.

French would be an advantage but is not essential for candidates with the appropriate profile.
